Help Bring Our Panel on Cost Transparency in Healthcare to SXSW 2025!

Every March, Austin, Texas hosts one of the world’s premier festivals, South by Southwest (SXSW), attracting hundreds of thousands of attendees and transforming the city into a hub of innovation and creativity. SXSW showcases forward-thinking ideas working to shape our future. From emerging music trends to cutting-edge AI to disruptive healthcare solutions, SXSW is where some of the most influential minds come together to inspire new discoveries across all industries. 

3Pillar is excited to share that our proposal for a SXSW panel on the important topic of cost transparency in healthcare has made it to the voting round! Our proposed panel will feature Steve Rowe, Healthcare Industry Lead, alongside Peter Serio, Chief Customer Officer at Guidewell/Florida Blue, Jonathan Wiik, Vice President at FinThrive, and Richard Fu, Chief Commercial Officer at FlumeHealth, for a session titled Cost Transparency at the Point of Care. 

In the US healthcare system, clinical discussions often ignore the financial impact on patients, leading to anxiety as individuals struggle to understand the associated costs of treatment. This disconnect not only affects patient well-being but undermines their health outcomes. 3Pillar’s panel session will investigate the reasons behind this disconnect and explore innovative solutions, including new business models and advanced technologies like GenAI, aimed at improving financial transparency at the point of care.

We’re excited about the potential opportunity to speak at SXSW and share our perspective on how to address the disconnect between providers, payers and patients to a diverse and dynamic audience. Cost transparency is an ongoing issue within healthcare that affects all Americans and it’s something that needs to be addressed. 

Here’s how the SXSW voting period works. From August 6-18, speakers and talk tracks are put up against each other for public voting, allowing only the sessions with the most votes to be added to the SXSW agenda. A vote for our Cost Transparency at the Point of Care session will help 3Pillar get closer to our goal of sparking meaningful conversations and inspiring actionable insights that could shape the future of the healthcare industry and patient experience.
